Ghosts of Gettysburg Package Available while Ghosts of Gettysburg Office is open for the season. With the ghost tours becoming ever so popular in our little town, we have created a ghost package for you. When Mark Nesbitt wrote his Ghosts of Gettysburg Volume III, he included the James Gettys Hotel. The stories included in the book are stories that were told by previous owners and purveyors of the property. Over the years we have heard a few stories of our own and invite you to stay with us and tell us what you experience. Add this package to your stay and receive two tickets for a Ghosts of Gettysburg tour of your choice and an autographed copy of Ghosts of Gettysburg III. Package price $24.95
15th Annual Innkeeper's Civil War Ball January 29-31, 2010 The innkeeper's Civil War Ball will be held at the Grande Ballroom in the Gettysburg Hotel. The event includes morning dance instruction, a full sit down dinner and the grand ball on Saturday evening. Period dress is encouraged. $65 Cost per person exclusive of lodging.
Lincoln at Gettyburg February 26-27, 2010 Visit Gettysburg to celebrate President Abraham Lincoln's visit to Gettysburg. Saturday afternoon take a walking tour of the Gettysburg Train Station and the National Cemetery where the President delivered his famous speech. Later that evening join the group for a special dinner at the Inn at Herr's Ridge with President Lincoln. Long time Gettysburg resident and Lincoln imperonator James Getty will meet you in a period receiving line and spend time at each table for an informal conversation during dinner. After dinner sit back and enjoy his presetation. He is truly entertaining and mesmerizing. The cost for this packege includes two night lodging in the suite of your choice and all activities. Package range from $420-$600 depending on the size of the suite.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend March 19-21, 2010 A weekend get-away sponsored by Inns of the Gettysburg Area and the Spirited Ladies artists' group of Gettysburg. A great weekend to get away with your best girl friends, catch up on life, relax and just have fun. Friday check into the hotel and enjoy the evening by strolling through downtown Gettysburg and visit the various shops and galleries including the Spirited Ladies shop just a few doors away from the hotel. Other downtown activities include dinner at one of the fine restaurants and perhaps a ghost walk. Saturday morning at 11 AM arrive at the Inn at Herr Ridge for an 11:00 -12 noon Make and Take Workshop choosing from the following activites: Decorative Lighted Wine Bottle with Cheri, Decoupage Ornament with Jeannette or You CAN be an Artist with Bobbi. A lunch buffet will be served from 12:30 until 1:30 PM with the Spirited Ladies boutique open for shopping as well. From 1:30 until 3:30 PM the second Make and Take Workshop will be held and the choices are: Beading 101 with Martha and Sue, Photography with Ruth called Creating a Photo Collage, Shell Wind chime with Bonnie, and You CAN be an artist with Bobbi. At 3:30 follow the Spirited Ladies to the Sharpshooters Grill for cocktail hour, where you will learn to mix exotic cocktails named after the participating inns. The fee for the weekend is based on a two night stay at the room of your choice - rates range between $135-225 based on double occupancy and $60 per person which includes all activities on Saturday. There will be extra fees for supplies at each workshop and will be listed shortly.
Ghost Quest Weekend 2010 April 16-18, 2010 This past September we invited guests to explore and investigate the James Gettys Hotel as part of our Ghost Quest Weekend with Mark Nesbitt of Ghosts of Gettysburg. We had a great turnout and way too much fun. All the doors were opened and all were invited to explore. The stories literally flowed out of the walls. So we have decided to do it again. The James Gettys Hotel and Mark Nesbitt's Ghosts of Gettysburg invite you to experience a weekend of 'ghostly' adventures. Mark Nesbitt and his investigative team of paranormal experts including Investigative Medium Laine Crosby, will provide hands on training in the latest paranormal investigation techniques. Venues on the list for possible investigations : The James Gettys Hotel, The Ghosts of Gettysburg Headquarters, The Daniel Lady Farm, and Sachs Bridge. (Final venues will be posted as confirmed) After checking into the hotel Friday evening, enjoy our wine and cheese social and introductions. Later after dinner on your own, meet the team and learn of the weekend's activities and latest techniques. When all is quiet, explore the James Gettys Hotel, like no one else has done. Saturday after breakfast meet for a follow up discussion of the night's investigation and learn about EVP(electronic voice phenomenon). Later in the day visit several other venues. Enjoy dinner on your own and later after dark visit yet another special venue. Packages range between $625-850 and include a two night stay at the James Gettys Hotel and include all activities. Prices vary depending on the size of the suite and are based on double occupancy. Additional guests over double occupancy - $200/person.
